Drakensberg South Africa We are a horse trail , adventure tour operator, and selfcatering lodge in the Central Drakensberg , Kwazulu Natal province of South Africa. Relax and experience the peace and tranquility of the Drakensberg at Ikhaya lodge. Our family run farm is situated in the middle of the Central Berg close to the peaks of Champagne Castle and Cathkin Mountain and offers a casual atmosphere and friendly staff. Ikhaya Lodge is situated on Bergvlei Farm, a 245 ha Horse & Crob Farm 25km from Winterton in the Cathkin valley on the Bell park Dam Culfargie road. There is a beautifull refurbished farm house with spacious rooms and a large garden. and two self catering rondavels . Dramatic views of the Drakensberg can be enjoyed from the rondavels. This is a perfect place for those who love peace and privacy and a wonderful holiday place for families, couples or a starting point for berg adventures with endless rolling farmland and river frontage. We also organise horse riding, overnight hiking adventures and mountain bike trails. It will take you about 4 hours from Johannesburg an two-hours from Durban to arrive at the farm. We are situated in a malaria free area of Africa

Battlefields
The battles of Spionkop, the most famous in 1900's, Colenso ( Churchill) , Mount Memory, Vaalkrans, Elandslaagte, Talana, Rorkes Drift and Blood River, can be explored.
Bell Park Dam
Boating and fishing in a majestic setting. Picnic sites are available but visitors must take their own food and drinks as no facilities are available at the dam. Beware of crocodiles.
